Anatomy in Three Dimensions

Anatomy in Three Dimensions

Build the body from the inside out with our innovative approach to learning Anatomy. Understanding anatomy is essential for movement professionals. This multisensory learning experience will engage, enlighten, and satisfy your curiosity about anatomy. Taught by Balanced Body Educators worldwide.

1 MODULE

Learn the structure and function of bones, joints, muscles, tendons, and ligaments, and the origin, insertion, and action of the major muscles of movement, by building them yourself on our skeleton. This course covers the torso, hip, thigh, shoulders, upper arms, and spine. Includes full color manual with video support. Offered in-person and virtual. Prerequisite: none.

Movement Principles

The foundation of all Balanced Body curriculum, Movement Principles incorporates anatomy, assessment and kinesiology along with key exercises used in every movement discipline. You will learn how the body moves, common alignment anomalies and exercises to improve movement capacity in your clients.

1 MODULE

Movement Principles provides a solid foundation for training in all environments, with any equipment. You will come away with a complete toolbox for effectively training clients to recover from injuries, improve their general fitness and enhance their performance.

MOTR

These courses teach movement professionals how to incorporate MOTR into existing Pilates, rehabilitation, and fitness programs. You will learn how to create and combine functional MOTR exercises using the innovative pulley-and-resistance system in balance, aerobic, strength and flexibility sequences.

2 MODULES

Our MOTR Fundamentals course provides instruction on basic movements using all aspects of this portable full body training system. You will learn the Balanced Body Programming System for easy class design. Includes equipment set-up, safety, and maintenance.

Balanced Body Barre

These courses teach movement professionals our proprietary Barre program. You learn to use Barre to improve strength, balance, and posture in new, dynamic ways. We will teach you how to set functional movement to music in innovative, effective Barre classes!

2 MODULES

This one-day course combines the high energy, music-driven fun of a Barre class with the precise, intentional movement of Pilates. You will learn the essential Barre exercises and how to thread them together using our programming system to create effective Barre classes. Also, we will teach you cueing for smooth transitions and proper alignment.

Bodhi

Bodhi Suspension System

These courses teach you how to bring the precision and principles of Pilates to suspension training. You learn to “work the ropes” by leaning in, releasing gravity and providing a full-body workout. We provide you with the tools to create fun and effective Bodhi classes.

2 MODULES

In this one-day course, you learn fundamental Bodhi exercises, and common progressions, regressions, and modifications. We teach you how to create classes using our programming system and provide you with sample classes. You learn equipment set-up, safety, and maintenance included. Detailed Bodhi Training Manual and ongoing video support included.

Our comprehensive Bodhi course dives deeper into the principles of suspension training, how it changes the body and why we believe it is the ideal complement to Pilates and fitness programs. These courses teach movement professionals including Pilates instructors, physical therapists, and athletic trainers the CoreAlign method for musculoskeletal rehabilitation, performance enhancement and functional performance in everyday life.

2 MODULES

This course includes CoreAlign method theory and 60+ foundation exercises to build functional movement skills. Progressions and regressions for all ability levels. Specific modifications and precautions for special populations. Includes equipment set up, maintenance and safety.

FAQs

The Integrated Movement Specialist certification is designed to raise the level of teaching within health and fitness industries by providing workshops and courses that focus on a wide range of physical training topics from cueing and coaching to optimizing client movement patterns. All courses are intended to support your professional growth. Through two of our signature Balanced Body Education courses, Anatomy in Three Dimensions™ and Movement Principles, you will have an opportunity to delve deeper into the moving body and learn to see and to train clients to achieve maximum results.

To become and Integrated Movement Specialist requires you take 16 hours of Anatomy + 16 hours of Movement Principles + 16 hours of Programming. You can satisfy the anatomy requirement with either of our anatomy courses, Anatomy for Movement Professionals or Anatomy in Three Dimensions. Our Movement Principles course is truly a unique signature course which teaches you how to see the body in motion and to critically reason how best to approach training. All of these courses are offered live and virtually at conferences and at our Authorized Training Centers. To satisfy the programming requirement, you can take any of our continuing education courses online, either on demand or by attending one of our IMS virtual events, or take it live at a fitness conference where available.

You can take these courses at fitness conferences (including IDEA Personal Trainer Institute, ACSM Fitness Summit, IDEA World Congress) and at Pilates on Tour conferences.
